Last Monday, we welcomed the Atlantic Canadian Organic Regional Network, Bird Studies Canada, EOS Eco-Energy, the Mount Allison Geography & Environment department, the Mount Allison Students Union, the Nature Conservancy of Canada, Nature NB, the New Brunswick Environmental Network and the New Brunswick Food Security Network at the Sackville Commons.
For such a small place, there are an abundance of environmental projects in the Greater Tantramar Area. From farming under climate change to draft-proofing work parties to important bird area programs, the above groups are working towards finding solutions for sustainable living. One potential initiative, mentioned at the event, is to build a local food security organization for the region. We hope to continue this series for different sectors, encouraging collaboration & momentum for new projects.
