Community Food Smart

Mar 4, 2020 | blog

The Sackville Commons Co-op is thrilled to be a distribution partner for the Tantramar Community Food Smart program, a monthly bulk food buying club for individuals/families keen on purchasing quality fruits and veggies at affordable prices.

As a member, you have access to fresh produce once a month far below the usual cost of buying as an individual.

How does it work?

Each month, you can place an order with one of the distribution partners in your community.

Each food bag costs $15.00 ($35 value approx).

Order placement and payment is due by the first Thursday of each month, if you wish to participate.

Pick-up will be in the afternoon of the second Thursday of each month, a week after payment.

Monthly details will also be communicated via email to participants.

  • There will be a limited number of participants the first few rounds
  • Each of the 4 distribution partners will be selling 20 bags each
  • The deadline to place your March order is Thursday, March 5th. If you don’t make it in for this order, don’t worry! We’ll put you on the waitlist and expand the membership in the coming months!
  • To volunteer, for more information or to become a distribution partner, please email our Community Food Intern Nadine at foodtantramar@gmail.com.

$10 annual membership fee + $15 for produce every month! BRING YOUR OWN BAG or pay $1 by the deadline to take a bag with you 🙂
